The Liberal Arts Advisement Center is pleased to announce the hiring of three new academic advising professionals.
Matt Howe holds an M.A. in Social Science: Student Affairs & Diversity and a B.S. in Adolescence Education and has been working at Hudson Valley Community College for nearly 10 years serving our students in the office of Testing, Advisement, & Academic Placement. Previously, he provided academic advisement and disability services counseling at Germanna Community College and has experience with advising students with career/transfer planning and college/career readiness. Matt is a member of National Academic Advising Association and has presented at multiple NACADA conferences.
Heather Watroba earned a M.S. in Literacy Instruction and joins Hudson Valley with more than 10 years of experience as an academic advisor and educator. Heather was previously employed as an academic advisor at Excelsior College where she advised students for Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in the School of Nursing. Prior to her work at Excelsior, Heather was the department chair for Early Childhood and taught several general education courses at Mildred Elley College.
Matt Lambert earned a M.S. in Counseling and an M.S. in Education and has over 25 years of experience in student services including academic advisement and transfer counseling. For the past 10 years, Matt has worked for Jefferson Community College in Watertown, NY and continues to teach online courses for the college. Matt was awarded the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Professional Service in 2008.
